Intern
MINDAKAMI is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an intern!

We are looking for individuals who are:
- Passionate about disability, neurodiversity, mental health or human rights
- Posses unique skills such as communication, social media management, design, copywriting, research, etc
- Able to commit to flexible working hours
You can choose to intern in one of the following areas:
Advocacy Department
Our Advocacy Team works to improve mental health awareness by collaborating closely with the communities and stakeholders. You will learn more about disability, neurodiversity, human rights, conduct training, research, or organisational skills
Therapy Department
Our Therapy Team works closely with our mental health therapists and clients in an organized, confidential manner. You will be involved in administrative tasks related to therapy, curating social media accounts, and support projects when necessary
Trainee Therapist
MINDAKAMI is looking for a trainee therapist with a Master’s Degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology from universities in Malaysia.
We provide:

- Participate in peer/ therapist supervision
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Completing or completed your practicum
- Working closely with your university supervisor
- Able to do a minimum of eight (8) therapy sessions per week
- Able to stay with us for at least three (3) months
- Fluent in at least two languages
Mental Health Therapist

- Registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia or The Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology
- Experience working with clients from various backgrounds
- Able to provide a minimum of five (5) therapy sessions per week

Q: What are the requirements to be an intern in MINDAKAMI?

Q: What is the hybrid working mode?
A: Depending on the agreed schedule, you may need to work from home or in the office.
Q: What are the working hours in MINDAKAMI?
A: MINDAKAMI operates from 10 AM-10 PM every day. Our internship program requires you to work at least one of two shifts; 10 AM-4 PM or 2 PM-8 PM.
Q: What will I do in Advocacy Department or Therapy Department?
A: You will be working under Advocacy Department or Therapy Department. Each department requires different skill sets and commitments, so please choose wisely.
Your main task in Advocacy Department is to engage with the relevant parties to provide training and awareness on disability, neurodiversity, mental health and human rights. You may also be directly or indirectly involved with mental health campaigns.
Your main task in Therapy Department is to bridge the communication between potential and existing clients with the professional and in-training therapist. You may also be involved in handling the administrative and logistics for mental health services.
Q: How many working days for interns?
A: Four (4) days per week.
Q: Will I receive any allowance?
A: MINDAKAMI is a mental health initiative where our primary income comes from therapy services. To maintain our work, management and administrative process, we will provide a small allowance and reimbursement for the internal bill to all our interns.
Q: How long can I intern at MINDAKAMI?

Q: What are the difference between Community Leader and Community Associate?
A: Both Community Leaders and Community Associates play important roles for mental health.
A Community Leader is a selected individual who is actively involved in efforts to promote mental health awareness and support within their community and is responsible for bringing people together and promoting the well-being of the community.
A Community Associate is a person who supports and assists the Community Leader by helping to coordinate events and activities and by providing assistance to community members.
Q: How do I sign up as a Community Leader or Community Associate?
A: You are required to complete the training provided by us. Once completed, you will receive an e-certificate with your Community Leader or Community Associate registration number.
Q: Will I receive any allowance?
A: Due to our financial capacity which involve several programmes, management and administration, we are unable to provide any allowance to our volunteers.
Q: What are the requirements to be a trainee therapist in MINDAKAMI?

Q: Do you provide site supervision?
A: Yes.
Q: Will I receive any allowance?
A: Yes. Please refer to your agreement.
Q: Can I work in other centres while working in MINDAKAMI?
A: Yes, however, we do not recommend you to work with any similar centre to us as it may interfere with ethical considerations and the business code of conduct.
Q: Will I be absorbed as a mental health therapist?
A: Subject to approval and review from your training and supervision.

Q: I can only do online sessions. Is that okay?
A: Certainly. You can pick to do either online , in-person or both!
Q: I can only do sessions at night. Is that okay?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I work in other centres while working in MINDAKAMI?
A: Yes, however, we do not recommend you to work with any similar centre to us as it may interfere with ethical considerations and the business code of conduct.
Q: When will I receive my payment?
A: You will receive your payment at the end of every month.
Q: I attended a paid event to collect my CPD points. How can I reimburse it?
A: Our therapists are eligible for reimbursement after attending CPD-related events. Please refer to your agreement to find out more.
